Keeping us awake at the wheel of life

What am I pretending not to know?

17/10/2021

How many relationships do you have? Friends, colleagues, family, a partner?

How are they going? Are you suffering things you'd rather not because you think you have to maintain your relationships?

Will that help? Maybe. Maybe not. Is it fun to suffer? Or would you rather enjoy life with other fun people?

Are you committed to making your relationships work NO MATTER WHAT, because YOU CAN DO IT and to do otherwise would be to fail? Perhaps you have decided that he/she is The One and your rose-coloured glasses don't allow you to see things as they really are?

If you'd like to see you, the other person, and your relationship more clearly ask "What am I pretending not to know?"

You already know what will be the greatest contribution to your life; you're just pretending you don't.

If I'm standing on my head, where are my feet?

11/10/2021

They're up in the air of course. Or are they? If you're standing on your head, then wouldn't your feet be on your head?

How many things in your life are like this? Beliefs based on assumptions? You've heard it from your family, your friends, your government, your doctors, or saw it on TV, so of course it's true! Right?

What if some, many, or even all your assumptions about how the world functions were different to what you thought? What if everything was the opposite of what it appeared to be and nothing was the opposite of what it appeared to be?

So next time you'd like clarity about something you have assumed must be certain, ask "If I'm standing on my head, where are my feet?"

You may find they are indeed in the air. Or they may be on your head. Maybe you checked them into the cloakroom. Or perhaps you never had feet to begin with?

What is this anger?

26/9/2021

How often do you get angry? What makes you angry? How quickly does your anger come to the surface?

Do you think it's wrong? Does the anger envelope you in layers you can't escape? Does it distract you from creating the life you'd like?

Rather than considering the anger in itself wrong, what if you asked a question to get clear on what it truly is? For example
- Heated Anger can indicate where you are in judgement, rather than interesting point of view
- Explosive Anger can show you where you've been suppressing yourself, or
- Rising Anger may indicate someone is lying to you.

So next time you sense anger on its way, ask yourself "What is this anger?" Then notice what shows up and acknowledge it, breath and ask "What would I like to create?"

In doing so you'll be free to choose for you, rather than be in reaction.

Of course you can aways play with Potent Anger, which is where you choose to get your point across. Think of this anger as the power you use to stop people blindly walking across the road in front of a truck.

What if I just chose, dammit?

20/9/2021

Have you ever been stuck not knowing what to do? You've got two or more great (or not so great) options and you just don't know which one to go with?

Are you frozen by the idea that you might make the wrong choice? Have you made this choice the answer to your life? And if you get it wrong, people will say 'there you go again, making no-good choices' and your life will be over?

Is that true? What if there were no wrong choices? What if no choice was the answer to your life? What if a choice was quite simply that: a choice. A choice that is good for 10 seconds, and then you get to choose again.

How does that feel? A bit lighter? Can you choose now?

So go on, remind yourself: a choice is just a choice and you can do it every 10 seconds. When you're stuck, ask "What if I just chose, dammit?"

Then choose. Repeat.

I'm sorry. I'm confused. Can you show me?

Have you ever noticed that you're a little too smart or too fast for most people? What you get in a heartbeat, others can take minutes or even years to get, if ever?

Sometimes it's most effective to be Cute Not Bright...even though you're not.

Instead of fighting to be heard or understood, play the Blonde game and ask “I'm sorry. I'm confused. I thought it was A B C. Now someone tells me its X Y Z. What do you know? Can you please show me X to help me understand?”

Practice saying this authentically with a pure, innocent Blonde energy (it won't work using your natural more-powerful-than-a-locomotive vibe).

When people are telling you something in a SHOUTY voice as if you're an IDIOT, oblige them by asking Dumb And Confused questions. Gently lead them to either tell you what you already knew (but which they would never admit if you challenged them) or admit they can tell you, but they can't show you.

The aim is not to prove you're right and they're wrong. This is a tool to help you get the result you desire, with the greatest ease.

Is this fear, or excitement?

28/6/2021

If you were in a fire or in another emergency, would you freeze with fear? Or would you do what was required to keep everyone safe?

Would you lock yourself down in a panic of tears, waiting for someone to rescue you, hoping they'll be in time? Or would you unleash your own superhero reserves of energy, strength and resilience, sweeping up small children, grandmas and everyone else, carrying them down five flights beyond the flames to safety, in your underwear without fuss?

When you were little, was climbing trees scary or exciting? Was your mum's point of view "Aaagh!!! Get down from there!! Wait!!! I'm coming to help you!'"? And what about now? What do you think you're afraid of? Are you still waiting for your mum to save you?

If you're confused or not sure about what's going on when you have this sensation, ask yourself "Is this fear, or excitement?"

Perhaps you're not afraid, simply excited about a new challenge? And if so, how easily could you help save yourself and others from the fire?

If I didn't think, what would I know?

14/6/2021

Do you ever think yourself into a knotty ball of confusion? Listing pros and cons, researching 'true' and 'false,' collecting background info to analyse to death from all angles, trying to figure out what to do? To get it RIGHT. Whether it's which subject to study, job to choose, car to buy, relationship to pursue, or what choice to make about you and your family's health?

Do you enjoy this process? Is it as fast and easy as you'd like? How does it usually work out?

If you don't enjoy it and would prefer a faster, easier – and dare I say it more reliable for you – approach, next time you find yourself embarking on a thought journey into the abyss ask “If I didn't think about this, what would I know?”

You know those moments when you just know something? It feels right and light to you, even though others think you're crazy?

Only you can really know what is right for you. Are you willing to trust you more? Life might become a whole lot easier.

What information do I need?

6/6/2021

Are you confused about something? Is something you're being told not sitting quite right with you? Or perhaps you'd like to create something but keep running into concrete walls?

What if you were simply missing information?

So rather than spiralling into a confusion dilemma ask yourself: What information do I need?" or"Who do I need to speak to?"  and pay attention to what comes to mind.

Remember, when information comes your way you can also as "Does this feel light?"

What if by adding missing information, you replaced
confusion with clarity, and could then take the action you'd like?
